DAY 1: CASABLANCA – CHEFCHAOUEN:
Departure from Casablanca to Chefchaouen ,. On the way, we will make some stops to arrive at the blue city, Night in an authentic riad in the medina.
DAY 2: FREE DAY TO EXPLORE CHEFCHAOUEN:
This, 9 days Casablanca Desert starts: Today you will have a free day to walk around and explore the highlights of the blue city. Night at the same riad.
DAY 3: CHEFCHAOUEN – VOLUBILIS – MEKNES – FES:
After breakfast in your riad, you will start to go to Fez via Ouazzan and the Roman site of Volubilis, a guided tour of the site and learn a lot about the Roman Empire, After that, we will go to Meknes, the capital Ismailia of Morocco. In Meknes, we see the fascinating Bab Mansour Gate built by Sultan My Ismail, the Attic, and Sahrij Souani, used for irrigation and planting. Your visit also includes the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. We continue then by the highway to Fez. Night in a riad the medina.
DAY 4: EXPLORE FES:
After breakfast in your riad, you will begin to explore Fez, the « Safe City of Morocco ». You will spend all morning exploring the Medina and its narrow streets; visit most sites of cultural and historical interest, after lunch, we will drive you outside the medina to see the door of the Royal Palace, cross the Jewish quarter « Mellah », then visit the pottery cooperative In the afternoon, we will take you to one of the fortresses to discover an incredible panoramic view over the whole of the Medina of Fes, Night at the same riad
DAY 5: FES – IFRANE – AZROU – MIDELT – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA:
After breakfast, departure to the south Merzouga desert via Midelt and Errachidia, your first stop will be in the city of Ifrane, then to Merzouga via Midlet and the Ziz Valley, stop at the famous cedar forest where you will have the opportunity to see the monkeys. You will notice how the landscape changes to reveal clues of the desert as you approach the town of Er Rachidia. After lunch in Midelt, your journey continues along the spectacular Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views on along the way, we will cross the Berber villages to Erfoud, then to Rissani; the foundation of the Alawite dynasty – the current royal family in Morocco. Arriving at Merzouga at the end of the day, you will be greeted with a glass of mint tea and ride your camel to see the sunset amidst the highest sand dunes in Morocco and spend the night there. Overnight at our desert camp where you will dine.
DAY 6: SAHARA DESERT – TODGHA GORGE – DADES VALLEY:
Your camel guide will wake you up early in the morning to see what may be the best sunrise in your life. Then you will return peacefully to your riad enjoying the unique beauty of the spectacular dunes of Erg Chebbi, after breakfast and the hot shower in the hotel you will leave for the Tinghir and Todgha Gorge, The overnight accommodation will be in a hotel in the heart of the gorge.
DAY 7: DADES VALLEY – AIT BENHADDOU KASBAH – MARRAKECH:
After breakfast, we will cross the Dades Valley towards Kalaat M’Gouna and Ouarzazate. The road that crosses the Dades valley is called the path of a thousand Kasbahs – offering many opportunities to take some of your best photographic snapshots of the trip. We will stop at Kalaat M’Gouna, « the city of roses », then Continuation to Ouarzazate, Lunch will be at Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, the largest kasbah in Morocco, It is recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage. It is famous as a backdrop for many movies, including « Lawrence of Arabia », « Gladiator ». Our trip will continue through the majestic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m) over the High Atlas Mountains where you can stop to explore the process of making argan oil in women’s cooperatives before arrive at your Hotel in Marrakech.
DAY 8 : DAY TRIP TO ESSAOUIRA:
After breakfast in your riad, you will start traveling to the coastal city of Essaouira. Getting there after about a 2 and a half-hour drive to start exploring the city. You’ll visit the Skala Fortress; see Thuya wood carved by artisans; walk through the alleys of the medina and view hundreds of handicrafts. This « City of the Wind » attracts surfers from all over the world. Essaouira knew many civilizations – including the Portuguese occupation, which affects much of its architecture – however, it remains a small village with much history. Because of its size and its characteristic blue doors and washed walls, it is also regarded as Morocco’s « Jewel of the Atlantic”. You will also visit the women’s co-operative of Argan oil. Here they extract the oil that is famous for its culinary, cosmetic and medicinal properties. Lunch will be done the Moroccan way – fresh fish “cooked in order” at the fish market. In the afternoon you will travel back to Marrakech. Overnight at your riad. (BB).
DAY 9 : MARRAKECH – CASABLANCA AIRPORT:
After an early breakfast in your riad, we will drive you to Casablanca/Marrakech airport for your flight back home. Your tour ends at the airport.
